Why Home Means Everything to Me (And What Hygge Has to Do With It)
I’m an Air Force brat. If you know, you know. It means I never lived anywhere long enough to really plant roots. I couldn’t tell you a childhood phone number by heart, because it changed every couple years right along with the house, the school, the friends, the country sometimes. Home wasn’t a place that lasted. It was something you built quick, got attached to, and then packed into boxes again.
That’s probably why home means so much to me now. Why helping people find theirs isn’t just a job to me, it’s personal. And it’s probably why, about ten years ago, I stumbled across the word hygge and had this moment of, wait a second, I’ve been doing this my whole life and didn’t even have a name for it.
